20Hr CTEC Renewal Course - 2020

California Registered Tax Preparer Course

This course is intended to enhance the tax expertise of California Registered Tax Return Preparers (CRTP). It completely fulfills the new 2020 CTEC registration requirements for tax practitioners in California.




Course Pre-requisite. To to take this course you need to be a registered tax preparer in California with a valid CTEC registration I.D. number and a valid IRS issued PTIN. 

Course Format. There are 15 federal hours (10 hours of federal law, 2 hours of ethics law, and 3 hours of law updates) plus 5 California hours. The course is easily formatted to assist you in learning new tax law material. CTEC course number: 1057-CE-0001. IRS credit hours are defined by course number(s): 4T3EX-T-00029-20-O / 4T3EX-U-00030-20-O / 4T3EX-E-00028-20-O.

Free Test Re-take. The final test is "open book" with multiple choice questions. If you don't pass during the first attempt, the second attempt is free.

Important Course Information

After purchasing and studying the course at your own pace, you must return to our website and submit the final test online. Simply log in to your account and follow the instructions in the Student Center's "Online Tests" link.

 

 

How To Process Your Order

To complete a purchase you must have an active account with our school, then log-in with your account credentials. Note that your account uses your CTEC I.D. number and/or email address. Please keep records of your email address and password as you will need them to login to the site. Once you add the course to your shopping cart you may proceed through the check-out process, here you may enter any promotional discount codes.

 

Study Method

Once you have downloaded your study material from the "Student Center" you can start the course immediately. You can move through the course at your own pace, emailing the instructor when you have questions at service@aboffice.com. The exam should be submitted online before the CTEC deadline of October 31st, 2020. Our school will continue grading test submissions until January 15, 2021. 

 

Course Completion

We were the first school to provide CTEC with your education information in real-time for FREE. Students must finish the 20hr exam, consisting of 122 questions and achieve a score of 70% or greater, in order to be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Immediately after submiting your test, you will receive the final score with an email confirmation of your results. You will then be able to print your certificate instantly. Certificate

Upon completing the course you will be able to print a "Certificate of Completion." You will have access to it in the Certificate & Documents section of the Student Center.

Certificate Order Service: Includes a personalized ready to frame certificate of completion (8x11), and your personal test results. You will be able to review and study the questions missed on the test, the cost is $13.99. Email us for more details.

 

CTEC Reporting

Our school directly reports all student certifications to CTEC electronically. This expedited service is valued at $14 and it's FREE to all of our students! After we report your CE hours you must register with CTEC by October 31st. Important: If you don’t not renew by October 31st, your registration will expire and you will not be permitted to prepare taxes. You may enter your CTEC account here.

 

Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP): IRS Reporting

Our school reports student credit hours to the IRS for qualification in the AFSP program. Test Re-Take Fee / Second Opportunity

If you do not pass the online exam you will be given a second opportunity to re-take it. You will immediately get instructions on how to re-take the test by email. If you don't pass the exam in two attempts, a $12.99 processing fee will apply in order to take the test a third and final time. If you don't pass the third test, you will need to buy a new course.

 

Refund Policy

If the school cancels or discontinues the course, the school will make a full refund of all charges. After the student has completed the course, and the certificate of completion has been issued, the course is officially complete and no refunds will be issued. The student has a right to a full refund if they cancel the course agreement (in writing) prior to midnight of the tenth (10) CALENDAR day after the course was purchased. If the course was purchased as a correspondence (mail) course, the student has a right to a full refund of all charges, less the amount of shipping & handling, if they cancel the course agreement prior to midnight of the tenth (10) CALENDAR day after the course was mailed. Refunds will be paid within 30 days of cancellation or withdrawal after the original material has been returned by the student.

 

Mail Orders (Book Hard Copy)

The course is available by mail order for those students that need a physical book hard copy. There are additional fees for processing, manual grading, and shipping the course material. The exam should be submitted before the CTEC deadline of October 31st. Our school will continue grading exam submissions until December 20, 2020. All grading and processing fees are non-refundable.  A hardcopy of this course is not required, the online digital PDF version is easy to print. Promotional codes do not apply.
